Requirements & Qualifications
- Education: Diploma in Agriculture, or Bachelor's degree in Agriculture / Horticulture / related fields.
- Experience Relaxation: Educational qualifications are relaxable for candidates with significant practical experience in greenhouse setup and management.
- Practical Experience: Proven expertise in establishing and managing greenhouses, polyhouses, or shade houses.
- Preference: Preference will be given to candidates who have handled end-to-end greenhouse projects from setup through operational management.
- Work Attitude: Strong willingness to work hands-on directly at the field level.
Skills & Competencies
- Practical knowledge of greenhouse structures, required equipment, irrigation systems, and environmental control.
- Expertise in seedling production, plant care, fertilizer management, and pest/disease control.
- Core skill areas: Equipment Maintenance, Agriculture, Resource Management, Vegetable Farming, and Farming.
Key Responsibilities & Context
- Plan greenhouse setups based on location, cultivation objectives, and plant varieties, including preparing material lists and initial cost estimates.
- Oversee the installation of greenhouse framework, covering, shade nets, ventilation, irrigation, and drainage systems.
- Coordinate with suppliers, technicians, and workers to ensure timely setup within budget.
- Manage day-to-day greenhouse operations while monitoring temperature, humidity, light, and airflow.
- Prepare soil/growing media according to cultivation plans, and oversee sapling production, planting, irrigation, and fertilization.
- Identify plant diseases/pests and implement appropriate prevention and control measures.
- Regularly inspect and maintain greenhouse structures, irrigation systems, and equipment.
- Keep track of equipment usage, costs, plant growth, and production data, reporting regularly to management.
- Ensure efficient resource usage and maintain a clean, safe working environment.
